Mike Bloom, Senior Vice President, Merchandising, for CVS Caremark Corporation, is a seasoned retail executive with 30 years of retail experience, 18 of those with CVS Caremark.
As the senior CVS executive with direct oversight for merchandising, Mike is responsible for all aspects of CVS/pharmacy’s merchandising strategy related to its front store businesses. He oversees a broad range of multi-billion and multi-million dollar businesses, including health care, beauty, store brands, photo, consumables and general merchandise. Mike also has responsibility for the company’s visual merchandising and pricing departments.
Since joining CVS in 1991, Mike has held a variety of positions related to merchandising and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2003. Before joining CVS, he served as a manager/executive with the Virginia-based People’s Drug Stores and the Florida division of Toronto-based Shopper’s Drug Mart.
Mike resides in Sharon, Mass. with his wife Lori and their two grown children.
Edward Frisch
Chain Drug Consortium, LLC is comprised of 15 regional retail chains combining its purchasing power into a variety of programs including private label, national brand, general merchandise and import seasonal, pharmacy purchasing and services, freight and logistics, and reverse auction cost savings. The 15 CDC Members include: Bartell Drugs, Discount Drug Mart, Drug Fair, Duane Reade, Farmacia Carol, Farmacias El Amal, Hartig Drug, Hi-School Pharmacy, Kerr Drug, Kinney Drugs, Lewis, Navarro Discount Pharmacies, ShopKo, Thrifty White, and USA Drug. The Consortium creates promotional and marketing programs for its 1,200 plus stores which produce over $9 billion dollars in annual retail volume with 75 million prescriptions. The Consortium directs the collective purchasing activities of its 15 member chains to effect economy of scale for manufacturers.
David Kuncl
David Kuncl, Division Vice President Health and Beauty, Sears Holdings Corporation has more than 24 years of food and drug retail experience. He has been with Sears Holdings since May 2007 and has been in his current position since May 2008.
Prior to Sears Holdings, David worked with Jewel-Osco and it’s parent companies American Stores, Albertsons, and Supervalu in multiple supply chain and merchandising roles including Drug, Food, and Produce merchandising, pricing, private label management, and procurement.
David has his degrees in History and Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
Bryan Shirtliff
Bryan Shirtliff is the Sr. Vice President, Category Management, of Rite Aid Corporation, and is responsible for managing five (5) buying divisions, the Pricing department, and the Merchandising department.
Prior to coming to Rite Aid Bryan started his career with the American Stores Company, where he spent thirteen years advancing through the ranks and gaining an in-depth knowledge of chain store business. He was a Category Manager of both consumables and hair care; Manager of Merchandising Services, and finally Senior Marketing Manager for Health and Beauty Care categories. He also worked for a time at Brunos in Birmingham, Alabama where he was Vice President HBC and General Merchandise.
Bryan came to Rite Aid in 1998 as the Director of Health Care, and was promoted in 2000 to Vice President, Seasonal and Hardlines. In 2003 he was promoted to Sr. Vice President, Category Management.
Bryan earned his Bachelors of Science in Finance from the University of Montana. He and his wife Eve have four children and live in Mechanicsburg, PA.
